Tomatoes, Yummy!

We planted our tomatoes a long time ago, and as many of you know the sun came out later this year. So we just now getting some yummy treats. We have grape and beef stake that aren't quite ripe yet. In the picture are the yellow pear tomatoes and the sun sugar (the orange ones). They are so tasty! I love to put them in a bowl with some mozzerlla and balsamic vingerette, it is so good.

The kids are huge fans, but we are :)

Done with finals!

Well Brandon finshed his PT boards last Friday and the finished up finals today! I do have to say that I am loving the split right now. I remember 3rd and 4th quarter having him study for 10 and 11 finals, so glad that is done :) There were quite a few less this quarter, so the stress level was slightly lower :)
Great Job Brandon on another quarter down! About 15 months left! That thought seems so unreal, he has been in school since about 6 months into our marriage. This is life we have known for so long, and now we are seeing light :)

8 years and lovin it!

Monday was our 8 year anniversary! Sometimes it seeems like 8 years has flown by. Brandon had work and school on Monday. He was sweet and brought home a cheesecake for us to have that night. He is truely amazing in all that he does for us. I cannot image my life with anyone else or on any other path. Eight years, six moves, almost three kids and two degrees later; I wouldn't change a thing. Can't wait to see what the next years hold for us.

I don't have any pictures to post of our wedding. I do have a huge wedding album but we don't have a scanner and of course I do not have any digital pictures. So you just have to image a beautiful wedding with black, white and red and candles and lights everywhere, and some good food with a huge cake :)

Labor Day Fun!

On Labor Day we headed out to the pumpkin patch where they have a Labor Day weekend festival. The kids got to do a hay maze, hay pyrimid, hay rides, cow train trains, animal barn, huge slide and ate corn on the cob twice! They had so much fun and were tired at the end. We will be out there again come October for some pumpkins!

Passing of the Birds

To learn we aquired birds in the first place see previous posting.
On the 30th I was not feeling very good and Brandon let me sleep most of the day, seriously I did sleep most of the day and that night. While I was sleeping he was so fantastic and was cleaning so much. He deceided it would be really nice to scrub the kitchen floor on his hands and knees with a scrub brush. This is something I have wanted to do but obviously in my huge condition is not likely to happen.

So while I slept he scrubbed away. When I came downstairs, the cleaner smell was pretty strong. He opened the doors and windows to air it out. The nice husband that he is kept the bird covered so they would be quiet while I slept. We went to uncover them and they were both stiff and dead. Now I do not like these birds at all however I did feel sad for the kids, and a little joy for me.

I did feel sad Jackson cried for a good half hour if not longer. Abagayle was sad for about 10 min. Brandon deceided to have a funeral to help Jackson. He made a box and painted it black. They took the birds to the field behind the house and buried them. This actually seemed to help Jackson.

Both Brandon and Jackson are pushing for new pets. Mom says no way we have a baby coming and is enough for now. I am sure I will lose the battle sooner rather then later though.

How we got the birds!

Okay so for those of you who do not know in March we got birds. Even though mom did NOT want them at all. I figured I should blog their story and their sad ending.
In March we were literally packing up the car to go on a little trip to the ocean, when my husband stops in the doorway and tells the kids "Hey come look at this bird". Then he makes the comment that this is not a wild bird, it is a pet bird, in fact he thinks it is a zebra finch. So we talk the the mgr and she does not know who has birds because you do not need a pet deposit to have birds. Well mom is saying lets go the bird is fine, the (insert your favorite word here) bird flies into our house.

After an hour of Brandon chasing this bird around with a small net from the kids Elefun game he catches it. At this point I am beyond irrated and want to go. Of course Brandon has to find a cage for it and in the mean time tells the kids that if no one claims it after the weekend then we can keep it! I am sorry but birds are messy and noisy. But the kids are so happy now.

When we get back of course no one has claimed it, so not only do we "get" to keep this bird, they have to live in pairs or more because they are flock birds. We "get" to buy a second bird, hooray! The children are so excited! ( I am including Brandon in this)

Birds are home now (Buzz and Woody, Jackosn named them) and we are living in bird bliss. Almost all of us. I of course do nothing with the birds, do not lift their cover (unless Jackson asks), feed them, water them nothing. Brandon's bird his job!
That is how our birds came to be.

Family Reunion

We had a fantastic family reunion Aug 21 - Aug 25. I forgot my camera :( So i am waiting on Brett to send me a CD of the pictures they took so I can do a offical posting. More details to come when I get the photos.
